Last night, the 101st anniversary of the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner went down in Washington, D.C. The Washington Hilton ballroom was filled with politicians, celebrities and media elite for President Barack Obama’s humorous speech during the “Nerd Prom.” Check out his full speech and peep the red carpet flicks of some of your fave YBF celebs inside….
Hello gorgeous! Yes, our First Lady Michelle Obama was absolutely stunning for the 101st anniversary of the White House Correspondents’ Dinner held at The Washington Hilton ballroom.
FLOTUS sparkled in a custom Zac Posen gown topping off her look with a head full of luscious curls for the evening’s festivities. And we are loving all of it!
“Saturday Night Live” comedian Cecily Strong took the podium as she was tapped to host the prestigious event.
The highlight of the night came when President Obama introduced a special guest. In walks in Luther his “anger translator.” He tapped Comedy Central’s “Key and Peele” comedian Keegan-Michael Key to help translate what Obama was REALLY thinking. And it was quite funny.
Below are the highlights from President Obama’s speech:
On his “bucket list”:
Obama said he’s asked, ” ‘Do you have a bucket list?’ I say, well I have something that rhymes with bucket. Take executive action on immigration? Bucket. New climate regulations? Bucket. It’s the right thing to do,” Obama said, picking up on criticism of his executive actions.”
On his gray hair:
“I look so old John Boehner’s already invited Netanyahu to speak at my funeral.”
Meanwhile, First Lady Michelle Obama looks great, he said. “I ask her her secret. She says, [Obama employing a nasally voice] ‘Fresh fruits and vegetables.’ It’s aggravating.”
On the Secret Service:
Obama said the agency, which has fumbled time and again in the last year, has come up with a “fool proof way to keep people off my lawn.” The answer came in the form of a Photoshopped picture: Sen. John McCain with a broom and Vice President Joe Biden with a baseball bat.
Once his anger translator Luther hits the stage:
“Hold on to your lily white butts,” Luther opened.
The Obama version: “In our fast changing world, traditions like the White House Correspondents’ Dinner are important.”
The anger translation: “I mean really what is this dinner?” he says jumping emphatically. “And why am I required to go to it? Jeb Bush, do you really want to do this?”
Obama talking about campaign fundraising: “Hillary will have to raise huge sums of money too.”
Translation: “Oh yeah,” Luther says with a wild look in his eyes. “She goin’ get that money. She goin’ get all the money. Khaleesi is coming to Westeros,” a reference to HBO’s “Game of Thrones”.
On the 2016 GOP Field:
“The Koch brothers think they need to spend a billion dollars to get folks to like one of these people,” Obama said of the potential 2016 Republican presidential candidates. “I raised a lot … but my middle name is Hussein.”
“Today thanks to Obamacare, you no longer have to worry about losing your insurance if you lose your job. You’re welcome Senate Democrats,” Obama said.
On a third Obama term:
Talking about how much he liked Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., who could run for the Democratic nomination for president: “Apparently people really want to see a pot-smoking socialist in the White House. We could get a third Obama term after all.”

Celebs working the red carpet at the “Nerd Prom”:
“black•ish” star and Tracee Ellis Ross was heavy on the pre-party scene the night before and last night she shut it down! The YBF chick stunned in a bold caped gown on the red carpet. And we are NOT mad. This dress sort of gives us a little Solange wedding gown tease.
After much speculation, it appears Super Bowl champ Russell Wilson decided to bring his grandmother Carolyn to the “Nerd Prom” rather than Ciara, which was previously reported. Rumors have been swirling of a budding romance between the two since they were spied together at a Seattle Mariniers game last week.
Ciara is currently in Paris having fun with Givenchy creative director Riccardo Ticsi.
Sports Illustrated swimsuit model/John Legend’s wife Chrissy Teigen served some thigh action in a midnight blue long sleeve beaded Zuhair Murad gown with a deep slit.
Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Chanel Iman followed suit. She rocked a light blue plunging neckline chiffon Zuhair Murad gown. And she looked amazing.
“Orange is the New Black” star and Emmy nominated actress Laverne Cox, who recently posed nude in an pictorial for ALLURE magazine, made her White House Correspondents’ Dinner debut in a silver Ines Di Santo evening gown, Jill Haber clutch and Forevermark jewels. She looked beautiful.
“Empire” star Gabourey Sidibe had some fun on the carpet posing it up with her good friend/actress Bailee Madison.
“black•ish” dad Anthony Anderson was looking dapper in an all-black tux.
After hitting up almost every White House Correspondents’ Dinner pre-party the night before, “TODAY” co-host Tamron Hall looked flawless in a strapless high-low dress and sandals. Work!
Big Sean’s ex-girlfriend Naya Rivera showed off her growing baby bump.
“State of Affairs” actress Alfre Woodard dazzled in a yellow sparkly gown.
Rev. Al Sharpton and his girlfriend Aisha McShaw came out to the dinner.
CBS co-anchor Gayle King posed it up alongside her daughter/”Let’s Move” staffer Kirby Bumpus.
CNN anchor Don Lemon was all smiles.
News anchor Lester Holt and his wife Carol Hagen-Holt posed it up on the carpet.
Emmy Award-winning producer Larry Wilmore and his date worked the carpet.
Super Bowl hero Malcolm Butler, who recently welcomed a bouncing baby boy, snapped it up with Washington Bureau Chief of USA Today Susan Page.
Celebrity stylist Samira Nasr, “black•ish” creator Kenya Barris, and ”black•ish” mom Tracee Ellis Ross took a pic at the Yahoo News/ABC News White House Correspondents’ dinner reception pre-party.
The “black•ish” gang huddled up in the picture booth for a few funny flicks.
And our girl Naomi Campbell was busy making her rounds at the Bloomberg & Vanity Fair cocktail reception following the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. Gorge.
